Cooped Crusader

I saw this video on Dooce and had to share it. Thankfully, Henry and Lola are not nearly, by any stretch of the imagination, as crafty as this dog. Even his little friends in the cage are amazed in the end.

Slightly obessive

As you may or may not know, I have an undying love for the Sharpie marker. I love the fine point, the ultra fine point, blue ones, pink ones. They're all fabulous. They are littered around my house, there's probably 4 or 5 in my purse at any given moment. I just carry them around with me. I've found myself carrying them in the garden. But I've never done this:

Freaky Monday

Look at this:



That's exactly what it was doing outside when we woke up yesterday morning. I opened my eyes at my usual 7 o'clock to bright sun shining in my window. Thomas got up to start the kettle and there was a loud rumbling noise. He came back in the room, "Was that thunder?"

Yep! Then we had lightening, more thunder and a huge downpour. I think that is only the third thunderstorm I have witnessed in California. And of course everybody is talking about it now.



Maybe it was a sign of what the stock market was going to do that day. But since we are 3,000 miles from Wall Street and I don't believe in "signs," I'm just going to call it a freakish start to the week.
